How to Measure Your Filter?

The dimensions indicated on a filter are nominal, for ease of identification. In reality, there will always be a tolerance of about 1/4’’ to 1/2’’ between the identified dimension and the exact dimension. This is the difference between a nominal measurement and an actual measurement.

So a 24x24x2 filter will have an actual measurement of 23.5’’x23.5’’x1.75’’.

In general, the filter should be inserted into your machine in such a way that the pleats are vertical, to facilitate the dispersion of dust by gravity. To measure your pleated filter, start by measuring in the direction opposite to the pleat. Therefore, in the image below, we will have a filter with actual dimensions of 19.5’’ x 24.5’’ x 0.75’’, so a 20 x 25 x1.
